UPDATED: Suspect in Target iPad Robbery ID'd

Joshua Danielson, 27, was positively identified and arrested Friday by Murrieta police detectives on suspicion of committing the Sept. 27 iPad robbery at Super Target.

Updated at 3:05 p.m. Oct. 15:

A jail booking photo was released Monday of the suspect in a Sept. 27 iPad robbery from Super Target in Murrieta.

Joshua Ryan Danielson, 27, was arrested Friday on suspicion of committing the crime, the Murrieta Police Department previously announced in a news release.

"Probable cause was met for the arrest," said Murrieta police Lt. Tony Conrad, when reached by phone Monday.

"We investigate our cases, make arrests when necessary, and file those cases with the District Attorney’s office...this will be filed Tuesday," Conrad told Patch.

Meantime, the 6-foot-3-inch-tall Danielson posted $30,000 bail within hours of his arrest Friday, sheriff's jail records showed.

ORIGINAL POST:

The suspect in a strong-arm robbery of two Apple iPads from a Murrieta retail store has been identified, police said Friday.

Joshua Danielson, 27, of Murrieta was positively identified Friday by Murrieta police detectives as the suspect in the Sept. 27 robbery at Super Target, 27818 Clinton Keith Road.

Danielson was identified after police detectives put out a crime information flier—along with video surviellance—of the robbery.

Video footage showed the suspect punched a Super Target sales associate and then fled with the two devices, valued at $599 a piece, according to Murrieta police Sgt. Jay Froboese.

The robbery occurred as the suspect allegedly told the clerk he was interested in purchasing an iPad, Froboese said.

Once the display case was unlocked, a struggle broke out between the suspect and the associate.

The suspect allegedly punched the associate in the face, picked up an iPad that had fallen to the floor—along with another one—and ran out of the store.

"The suspect ran past a loss prevention officer, store cashier stands, and out of the south entry doors, without paying for the items," Froboese said.

The crime information flier was disseminated by Murrieta police detectives Oct. 2, and on Friday, detectives positively identified Danielson as the suspect, Froboese said.

At about 4:58 p.m. Friday, Froboese said detectives located Danielson near his Murrieta residence, where he arrested without incident.

Danielson was arrested on suspicion of commercial burglary and strong-armed robbery. He was booked at Southwest Detention Center, where he was being held on $30,000 bail, according to sheriff's jail records.

Hey Maggie, I don't get a chance to talk to the help desk but the ad has gone away for now. I justRead More made a comment on one of Carl Petersons blogs and now the comment has disappeared and no trace of it in my comment history. Are comments still pending proof reading before they post? Was it taken down by the blog author? I realize you guys have made a lot of changes so I'm still not sure if there are bugs being worked out or if some thing else is going on. Any help would be appreciated.
