Suspect in Police Pursuit Arrested Hiding in Murrieta Home

A residence on Calicia Court gets an unexpected guest early Sunday morning.

The driver of a stolen vehicle fleeing from Murrieta police Sunday morning tried to elude capture by hiding inside a home on Calicia Court, but was taken into custody and booked on several felonies, according to police. No injuries were reported.

A police officer attempted to pull over a vehicle driven by 30-year-old Miguel Estrada at the intersection of Rosemary Street and Hunter Road just before 6 a.m., said Sgt. Don Weller. Instead of pulling over, Estrada allegedly sped off and a four-minute pursuit began.

Estrada drove on the wrong side of the road at times and through several red lights and stop signs during the chase, which reached speeds approaching 60 mph, according to Weller.
