Suspect Arrested After Neighborhood Chase Early Sunday in Murrieta

Christopher Vincent, 28, a suspect in a domestic assault, was arrested after police set up a perimeter early Sunday morning in a Murrieta neighborhood.

A Murrieta man was jailed on suspicion of kidnapping, resisting police, battery and other charges following a domestic disturbance that reportedly occurred early Sunday.

Police responded to the 24000 block of Vista Verde Drive at about 2:37 a.m. when it was reported that someone had been assaulted during a family disturbance, according to Murrieta police Lt. Rob Firmes.

The suspect, 28-year-old Christopher Vincent, allegedly avoided police and was seen jumping fences and running through backyards on nearby Saradella and Calicia courts, the lieutenant told Patch.

"Officers set up a perimeter and checked backyards and ended up locating him back at his residence," Firmes said.

A Murrieta police K-9 unit assisted in locating Vincent and bringing him out of the residence, Firmes said.

Vincent was taken into custody and booked at Southwest Detention Center, where he was still being held as of Tuesday, jail records indicated.

Because he was also listed as a parolee, Vincent was being held on no bail, records showed.

During the incident Vincent also allegedly cut electric or telephone lines, records showed.
