Shootist to Hold Gun Expo And Sale in Murrieta

Guns, knives, gear and accessories will be on sale next weekend at the annual spring exposition and sale run by un shop, 24910 Washington Ave., in Old Town Murrieta.

The store will be the site of Elite Sports Express, a traveling 75-foot showroom featuring the shooting sports industry's latest in firearms, accessories, optics, tactical guns and gear, shooting aids, knives and stun guns.

There will be numerous factory representatives to assist and advise customers on purchases and safety, organizers said, and anyone who brings in a Glock pistol can get an inspection and repair if needed.

The event will run from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday and again on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., organizers said.

Children will get to color crime prevention-themed books and receive lessons from safety mascot "Eddie Eagle," who will show the kids what to do if they spot weapons.

Guns and gear will be given out in raffles and various stores -- featuring items such as sports eyewear and cowboy leather wear -- will have their wares on display and for sale at the expo. 

Murrieta firefighters will promote the upcoming 8th Annual Phil Armentrout Memorial Trap Shoot for charity and they will be selling raffle tickets for a chance to win a Browning Citori XT Trap, 12-gauge shotgun.

Murrieta police officers will answer questions on the legality of certain firearms, how to transport them, how to legally transfer a firearm to someone else and other inquiries, organizers said.
