A woman escaped a rollover crash Tuesday night on Antelope Road in Murrieta with only minor injuries after her SUV careened through a fence.
The accident was reported at about 8 p.m. on Antelope Road, south of Keller Road near Loma Linda University Medical Center-Murrieta.
Arriving firefighters found that the wrecked brown Chevrolet had landed upright in a ditch, according to Murrieta fire Battalion Chief Steve Kean.
The woman who was the sole occupant of the vehicle was located nearby when emergency personnel arrived, Kean said. She suffered minor injuries and was taken by AMR ambulance to Inland Valley Hospital for evaluation, he said.
There was extensive damage to the SUV as well as a chain-link fence that separates a residential property from the east side of Antelope Road.
The northbound lane of Antelope Road was blocked by emergency vehicles for approximately 45 minutes, although traffic was light and motorists were able to pass by the accident by using the southbound lane.
By 8:45 p.m., a tow truck had arrived at the scene to remove the vehicle.
Murrieta police could not immediately be reached late Tuesday as to what may have caused the woman to crash.
