An 18-year-old man from Winchester was arrested at a hospital emergency room Saturday night, suspected of robbing and beating a 17-year-old male hours earlier in Murrieta, according to the Sheriff’s Department. Relatives of the 17-year-old detained the suspect, Joseph Scott, at the hospital until deputies arrived.
The 17-year-old was walking on Benton Road east of Winchester Road around 9:25 p.m. when he was approached by five males including Scott, according to sheriff’s Sgt. Jim Larson. Scott demanded that the juvenile give up his belongings, and he struck the juvenile and knocked him to the ground after he refused.
A fight broke out between Scott and the juvenile, and several items belonging to the juvenile were stolen from him, according to Larson.
The juvenile ran home and was taken to a hospital by family members to treat injuries he sustained during the fight. While they were there Scott entered the hospital as well and was recognized as the suspect by the juvenile’s family. He was held until deputies arrived and arrested him.
Scott was booked into the Southwest Detention Center for second-degree robbery, receiving stolen property, and possession of a controlled substance, all felonies, and misdemeanor trespassing. According to jail records Scott is being held without bail on a Riverside warrant.

Linda is correct when she wants a new environmental study, a 22 year old study is outdated. The builders plans are questionable look online at Addendum IV CEQA which is full of all kinds of inaccurate information. There is a golf course noted in the Multiple Species Habitat Land. I believe the Lake Elsinore Planning Commission is out of line giving a developer a 20 million dollar exemption. Look at all the changes they have made to the general plan in the last 20+ years. 20 million dollars would build a lot of roads and more in Lake Elsinore. I don't believe the people on the planning commission are that stupid, so what are they doing? Do things change depending on who asks for something from the Planning Commission. Congrats young man and your family on getting this Scott guy at the hospital, and glad you got in a few good ones on him especially with 5 of them against one. Must have been a frightening experience. Scott you sound like a man definately on the wrong road with the record you must have for no bail. Hell they even let murders out for years before their trial. Best start turning your life around now before you end up in jail for the rest of it. 18 is not even beginning to live life kid.
