Reward Offered in Theft of Box Trailer, MMA Equipment

A 28-foot box trailer containing wrestling mats and tournament equipment belonging to the Grappling X MMA team was reported stolen Thursday from behind The Fight Lab in Murrieta.

A $1,000 cash reward is being offered by a Murrieta-area mixed martial arts team after a box trailer containing all of its equipment was reported stolen.

The trailer, similar to the one pictured, was parked behind The Fight Lab, 30033 Technology Drive, Suite 101 in Murrieta, when it was reported stolen Thursday night, according to Cory Cass, with the Grappling X team.

Cass said the 28-foot white trailer—California license plate no. 4EW9275—contained the Grappling X team's tournament setup.

"This was pretty much our full tournament set up, that (we) worked hard to build up. We are 100 percent self-funded and that was everything," Cass said.

Inside the trailer were black and gray Dollamur wrestling mats with Grappling X and Dollamur logos, as well as metal barriers and tables, he said.

Cass described The Fight Lab/Grappling X team as vested parts of the community. Now they are asking for the community's help.

"The Police Athletics League uses The Fight Lab for free for their youth boxing program," Cass said. "We do food drives and toys drives. A few months ago we did a tournament that was a fundraiser for a local women’s shelter, and we have a few events coming up for Rady Children’s Hospital to raise money to buy toys for the kids who are in the hospital."

Cass said the theft was reported to the Riverside County Sheriff's Southwest Station, which patrols the unincorporated area of Murrieta where The Fight Lab is located.

Anyone with information regarding the alleged theft was urged to contact Cass at grapplingx@hotmail.com or 951-634-9635.

Editor's Note: Patch was not able to immediately confirm the alleged theft with authorities late Friday. This story will be updated in the event more information is obtained from the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.
