Report: Murrieta Man Tasered in Temecula Incident

The man—allegedly on drugs and suffering a panic attack—was reportedly Tasered by police when attempting to jump out of a moving car on Winchester Road in Temecula.

A Murrieta man who jumped out of his moving car after calling 911 to say he was on drugs and having a panic attack was Tasered by police outside a Temecula restaurant while allegedly resisting arrest, it was reported today.

The 33-year-old man called 911 around 7 p.m. Tuesday and said he was driving somewhere on Winchester Road, had taken drugs and was having a panic attack, Riverside County sheriff's Sgt. Terry Jones told the Riverside Press- Enterprise.

A deputy who was searching for him saw a man jump out of a moving car on Winchester near Roripaugh Road and chased him through the parking lot of an Outback Steakhouse, according to the newspaper. The deputy did not know the man was the one who had called 911.

The deputy drew his weapon and ordered the man to the ground, Jones said, adding that he was zapped twice with a stun gun when he resisted arrest while being handcuffed.

The man, who hit his head on the ground during the arrest, was transported to Inland Valley Regional Medical in Wildomar for an evaluation.

It was unclear whether he will be charged with a crime.

You just never know how a drug will affect you, or what might be mixed in it as a filler. Not worth it to even try it. YOU CAN DIE.!!! We dont want you dead, or anymore residents of Temecula.

What kind of drug would make you want to jump out of a moving vehicle anyways?

Bath salts, pcp, mushrooms...at least that's what I've seen on COPS episodes.

It seems bath salts is alot more prevalent in our area than anyone realizes. From what I heard it is the drug of choice amongst the military because it is not detected in the bloodstream. This young man was asking for help - no doubt he should not have taken the drug in the first place, but I hope he gets the help he needs to not do drugs. I'm sure he will be charged with nothingless than DUI, maybe additional charges. What a mess. When are people just going to realize drugs are not worth it? Sooner or later it catches up to you. (the bad trip that is)
