Pair Accused of Stealing Purse From Target Lot

Police believe a man and a woman seen on surveillance footage may be responsible for stealing a purse Saturday from a cart in the Cal Oaks Target parking lot.

A man and woman are wanted for questioning in the theft of a purse from a store parking lot.

Police say a woman had her purse taken around 10 a.m. Saturday morning at , after forgetting it in a shopping cart and driving off. She'd emptied her purchases and then returned to the shopping cart to a cart well.

Police say a man observed the purse when he returned his cart. The suspects then drove over to the cart well at about 10:12 a.m., and the woman allegedly got out of the car and grabbed the purse, according to a flier posted on the Murrieta Police Department website.

The woman was desribed as white in her 30s, with a medium build and black hair.

The man was described as white, also in his 30s, with a medium to heavy build, brown hair and goatee.

They were seen driving a black Ford Expedition with a model year sometime in the 2000s, according to police.

Anyone with information regarding the identity of the suspects was asked to contact Sgt. Phil Gomez at 951-461‐6356.

Stupid people everywhere! It's going to be awesome when their friends and family see their pathetic faces on Patch. Just a matter of time before they're caught!

So it's really more like they 'found' the purse.... lady was stupid to leave her purse in the cart. Hopefully, these people will do the right thing and turn in the purse.

The right thing to do would've been to march themselves into Target to turn in the purse, not drive off with it! We all forget things,. Love how some think the victim is suddenly at fault......

Are we as a society so willing to accept this behavior as the "norm" or as acceptable? I would hope not. These people are just as guilty of thievery as they would be if they snatched the purse out of the woman's hand. The bottom line is they took something that did not belong to them. The sad part of the situation is that the parents missed an excellent opportunity to make a positive life-lasting impression on their child's future. As parents, it is our responsibility to be good role models for our children so they can face the world with honesty and integrity....not from other other side of a jail cell.
