Popular Murrieta Fire Department Barbecue Returns April 14

The 66th annual Murrieta Firemen's Barbecue will take place from 11:30 a.m to 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 14 at the Murrieta Community Center, across the street from fire station no. 1.

It is an event steeped in Murrieta history, and it is returning this year.

The 66th annual Murrieta Firemen's Barbecue will take place from 11:30 a.m  to 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 14 at the Murrieta Community Center, 41810 Juniper St. in Murrieta, across the street from Murrieta Fire Department's headquarters at Station No. 1.

The event features a day filled with fire station tours and demonstrations, a fire explorer muster, vendors, games, jumpers, a beer garden and live entertainment the whole family can enjoy, according to the city website.

The meal includes a traditional Murrieta Fire Department menu of deep-pit beef—cooked by the city's firefighters for 24 hours beforehand—as well as beans, potato salad and coleslaw.

Meal tickets cost $9 for adults and $6 per children younger than 12.

Vendors may reserve a spot, but must do so by April 11. The cost for vendors is $30, plus a city license fee of $10 if applicable.
