Police: Second Suspect Was 'Lookout' in Burglary, Chase

Justin Holschlag of Poway is believed to have acted as the lookout for the burglary suspect who allegedly led Temecula police on an April 19 high-speed chase that ended in French Valley.

Temecula police on Tuesday arrested a second suspect in connection with a residential burglary and related high-speed chase that occurred April 19.

At 2:45 p.m. April 19, Temecula officers had responded to the 41000 block of Placer Lafite, where they reportedly interrupted a burglary in progress.

“A single suspect drove away from the residence and officers initiated a vehicle pursuit,” Temecula police Sgt. Dean Spivacke stated in a news release.

The chase ended when the suspect, driving a white Mercedes, crashed near Winchester and Auld roads in the Murrieta-French Valley area.

After a short foot pursuit, the suspect, 31-year-old Amir Hoosein Serpoosh, was taken into custody.

Investigators learned the suspect in the case “had an accomplice who was acting as a lookout,” Spivacke stated.

The alleged accomplice was identified by investigators as 39-year-old Poway resident Justin John Holschlag.

On Tuesday, Temecula police traveled to Poway and arrested Holschlag at his residence.

“A search of the residence located stolen property from two other burglaries which occurred in the City of La Quinta,” Spivacke stated.

Holschlag was transported and booked into Southwest Detention Center near Murrieta on suspicion of burglary and possession of stolen property. He was being held on $35,000 bail, jail records showed.

Serpoosh remained jailed on $900,000 bail as of Wednesday, records indicated.

Anyone with additional information regarding the case was encouraged to contact Investigator James Dickey at the Temecula Police Department at 951-696-3000.
