Paraglider Airlifted to Hospital Following San Jacinto Crash

A paraglider who suffered moderate injuries in a fall in San Jacinto was rescued Sunday by a fire department helicopter, authorities said.

The paraglider, a man whose age was not disclosed, was reported down about 4:30 p.m. in the 200 block of Soboba Road, about 2,000 feet up the mountain from Soboba Soaring, a popular paragliding area, according to Mark Annas of the Riverside County Fire Department.

The fire department sent their helicopter to help hoist the man out of the area, and brought him to a waiting ambulance.

"The patient was transferred from Helicopter 301 to Mercy Air Ambulance and transported to an area hospital with moderate injuries," Annas said.
