Naked Man Causes Commotion in Walmart

A naked man is suspected of trying to break into vehicles in the Walmart parking lot before entering the store, where he alarmed employees and allegedly fought with police.

A man who wore no clothes into the Murrieta Walmart, scaring employees, was apprehended by officers after a brief struggle, police said.

The alleged nudity occurred at 6 a.m. Sept. 18 at41200 Murrieta Hot Springs Road, according to Murrieta police Lt. Tony Conrad.

Officers responded to Walmart after getting a report that a naked man was in the parking lot allegedly trying to break into vehicles, according to a report provided.

The first arriving officer saw the suspect in the parking lot running toward the Walmart store, and began running after him.

"Once inside the store, the suspect ran toward several employees near the registers, swinging his arms," Conrad said.

"The employees avoided the suspect and watched as he walked around the register area, naked and acting strange."

The officer came into the store, made contact with the naked man--whose name was not provided--and arrested him.

"The suspect did in fact fight with the officer and was charged accordingly," Conrad said.

No one involved in the incident was seriously injured.
