Murrieta Woman Gets Probation in DUI Crash Death

Ashly Nicole Rodriguez, 20, of Murrieta, was sentenced to five years probation for the Jan. 22 crash that killed 19-year-old Aaron Ellison.

A 20-year-old Murrieta woman who that killed a Murrieta man will serve probation and get treatment.

Ashly Nicole Rodriguez was sentenced Thursday to five years probation and one year of treatment for the .

Rodriguez will not serve jail time, according to the sentence handed down by Judge Elaine Johnson, court records show.

Johnson cited Rodriguez' age, lack of criminal record and remorse as part of her decision-making in the sentence, The Californian reported.

The night of the crash, Rodriguez and her passengers were returning from a party in French Valley. Two others were injured and Rodriguez was immediately arrested on suspicion of DUI manslaughter.

Two women—a mother and daughter— for allegedly supplying alcohol to minors at the party. They face up to six months in jail if convicted.

Rodriguez had faced up to 12 years in prison, the Riverside County District Attorney's Office reported.
