Murrieta Woman Arrested on Suspicion of Attempted Murder

Murrieta SWAT officers had responded Oct. 25 to Jennifer Estberg's home in the 39400 block of Country Mill Road after shots were allegedly fired from within the home.

A woman who was at the center of an Oct. 25 Murrieta police SWAT operation has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, The Press-Enterprise reported.

Murrieta police arrested Jennifer Estberg, 33, at a psychiatric facility in Riverside, according to jail records. She was being held at Robert Presley Detention Center, also in Riverside, as of Saturday.

On Oct. 25, Murrieta officers had responded to Estberg's home in the 39400 block of Country Mill when they received reports from two separate family members that she was threatening to kill herself, police Capt. Dennis Vrooman said at the time.

Gunshots were allegedly fired from within the home and with officers in close proximity, Vrooman said, prompting a SWAT response.

The woman eventually agreed to come out of her home and was seen wearing a bathrobe as she was taken away in a patrol car.

Murrieta police took weapons from her home that evening.
