A woman who was at the center of an Oct. 25 Murrieta police SWAT operation has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, The Press-Enterprise reported.

Murrieta police arrested Jennifer Estberg, 33, at a psychiatric facility in Riverside, according to jail records. She was being held at Robert Presley Detention Center, also in Riverside, as of Saturday.

On Oct. 25, Murrieta officers had responded to Estberg's home in the 39400 block of Country Mill when they received reports from two separate family members that she was threatening to kill herself, police Capt. Dennis Vrooman said at the time.

Gunshots were allegedly fired from within the home and with officers in close proximity, Vrooman said, prompting a SWAT response.

The woman eventually agreed to come out of her home and was seen wearing a bathrobe as she was taken away in a patrol car.

Murrieta police took weapons from her home that evening.

Sounds like she needs some ECT.

If she was arrested for attempted murder, who was the target-herself? The article only states she was trying to commit suicide, not hurt anyone else. I didn't realize attempted suicide is the same as attempted murder??

Uhhh... perhaps you should follow the link to the PE story for more details. She allegedly shot several rounds through the walls into the adjacent rooms where police were standing.

I like that there's an add for a local gun store just before you read the article - in case you want to do the same here's the place to buy your gun!

I wasn't being naive - I was being facetious. One would think people, including the media, would try to be a bit more sensitive. Don't you think we've had enough issues with guns and people with mental issues?

Barbara really “need to be more sensitive” … If this country could not get more sensitive and that is what needs to change i.e. grow a set….

My anatomy is fine just the way it is but thanks for the coarse recommendation. Comments like that just prove my point. We've become a nation of "it's all about me" and "anything to make a buck." Violence has become front page news instead of something we want to prevent.
