A Murrieta resident whose surveillance equipment took shots of a man burglarizing his vehicle submitted the photos to Patch.
The burglary occurred between 1 a.m. and 2 a.m. Sunday at a home in the area of Chaco Canyon Road and Jackson Avenue, near E. Hale Curran Elementary School, according to the resident.
"The suspect rummaged through the entire car leaving behind a huge mess," the resident, who asked that only his first name of Dave be used.
"He only got away with about $10 cash that was taken from a wallet. He was
kind enough to leave the wallet though," Dave told Patch.
According to Dave, three other vehicles were targeted in the neighborhood and the lock was picked on another vehicle one street over, damaging it.
Dave said he had left his vehicle unlocked.
The burglar was not caught and anyone who spots the man should call Murrieta police at 951-696-3615.
