The suspect, identified by authorities as Jonathan Boles, allegedly led the officer into the area of Mockingbird Canyon and Harley John roads, where the pursuit ended around 11:40 a.m.

The officer was hurt at the end of the chase, but it wasn't immediately clear whether he was physically harmed by the suspect during a struggle or injured in a crash.

According to sheriff's radio broadcasts, the officer was treated for minor injuries at the scene.

The suspect abandoned his motorbike and ran into a wooded area.

Deputies and CHP officers converged on the location, setting up a dragnet and trying to flush the suspect out.

He was described as white, medium height, with a pony tail and wearing a black T-shirt with white lettering on the front and black pants.
