A robber brandishing a gun and wearing a mask allegedly held up a frozen yogurt store Tuesday in Murrieta, police said.
At 6:52 p.m., a female working alone at Yog-N Shop at 40444 Murrieta Hot Springs Road called police to say she was forced at gunpoint to remove money from a safe in the office, as well as money out of the cash register, said Murrieta Police Sgt. Robert Anderson in a news release.
The suspect was said to be wearing a light brown zip-up hoodie, with dark blue pants and a black mask and black gloves. He removed a handgun with his left hand while forcing the victim to do as he said.
"He then locked the female victim in the back office after removing the phone and telling her to not come out for 15 minutes or she would be shot," Sgt. Anderson said.
The suspect was described as being in his 30s, 5-foot-8, 170 pounds, with a Hispanic accent.
Anderson did not say whether the robbery was connected to a on Hancock Avenue 10 days ago.
