Murrieta Optometry Office Burglarized; Multiple Designer Sunglasses Missing

Some 100 to 150 pairs of designer shades were reportedly missing after two suspected burglars hit Date Springs Optometry in Murrieta early Monday.

An early-morning burglary of a Murrieta medical office is under investigation, according to police.

26672 Margarita Road, Suite 305 in Murrieta, was the target of a break-in at about 2 a.m. Nov. 5, according to Murrieta police Lt. Rob Firmes.

The office was left vandalized, and between 100 and 150 pairs of designer sunglasses—by makers such as Versace, Burberry, Prada, Fendi, Coach, Oakley and Dolce Gabbana—were taken, according to Amelia Kowalski, whose husband, Dr. Maciej Kowalski, runs the practice.

The Kowalskis supplied surveillance photos that show two suspects dressed in dark hooded sweatshirts and pants. One of the suspects appeared to be carrying a blue and black duffel bag or backpack.

Police confirmed officers responded to the location when a burglar alarm was reported. Fingerprints were taken, and the break-in was being investigated by Department's detective bureau, Firmes told Patch.
