Murrieta Men ID'd as Those Killed in I-215 Crash

Philip Molitor, 55, and Jonathon LaRue, 19, died in a crash on northbound I-215 south of McCall Boulevard about 12:10 p.m. Tuesday, according to the Riverside County Coroner's Office.

Two Murrieta men killed in a on Interstate 215 in Menifee were identified today.

A woman was critically injured in the crash, according to Riverside County Fire Department spokeswoman Jody Hagemann.

A four-door Mercedes-Benz veered into the median "for an unknown reason," and the driver then swerved to the right and lost control of the car, according to a California Highway Patrol report.

The Mercedes "became airborne" and hit an embankment, flipping over. One of the fatally injured men was ejected and died of head injuries. The survivor, a 21-year-old Murrieta woman, was partly ejected and was transported to Inland Valley Medical Center.

None of the occupants were wearing seatbelts, and authorities had not determined who was driving, according to the CHP report. The coroner's report said Molitor and LaRue were passengers.
