A 33-year-old Murrieta man suspected of selling methamphetamine at a Temecula hotel was in custody Saturday on drug charges.
Ramon Olmeda was booked into the Southwest Detention Center on suspicion of possession of drugs and the sale, transport or distribution of drugs less than one ounce in weight.
He remained behind bars in lieu of $25,000 bail, pending a court appearance Monday.
Olmeda was arrested about 4:15 p.m. Thursday by detectives on a surveillance detail in the 27600 block of Jefferson Avenue, according to a sheriff’s press release.
Olmeda was seen leaving a Temecula hotel and was stopped on a vehicle code violation when he went to drive off in his Nissan Frontier, said sheriff’s Sgt. Vance Stolte, and he agreed to a search of his vehicle.
“During a search of the vehicle, 29.2 grams of methamphetamine was located,” Stolte said.
Detectives also found about $2300 in cash.
Following his arrest, investigators searched Olmeda’s Murrieta home, in the 33800 block of Nightingale Avenue said Stolte, and found another $600 cash and 34.7 grams of methamphetamine.
“Upon completion of the investigation, 63.9 grams of methamphetamine and over $2900 dollars in cash were seized.,” Stolte said.
