UPDATE: Murrieta Man Found Dead in Perris Died of Blunt Force Trauma to Head
A body found Monday afternoon in Perris has been identified as a 47-year-old Murrieta man.
A man whose body was found Monday inside a planter in a Perris field died of blunt force trauma to the head, sheriff's officials said Wednesday.
Sergio Corona, 47, was found 2:19 p.m. Monday in an open field in the 200 block of North D Street, according to a coroner's report.
The body was “concealed within a planter located adjacent to the west alleyway behind some businesses,” according to a Riverside County Sheriff’s Department report.

Corona had no family in the area that sheriff's investigators could find and though the death was ruled a homicide, there is no suspect information.
Sheriff's information officer Courtney Donowho said investigators did not know where Corona worked.
