Murrieta Man Dies in Fiery Crash Along I-15
Spencer Thomas Gardner Smith, 20, died Aug. 2 when his car hit a parked construction vehicle, causing it to burst into flames.
A 20-year-old Murrieta man died last week in a crash along Interstate 15.
At around 6:57 p.m. Aug. 2, Spencer Thomas Gardner Smith was traveling alone on southbound Interstate 15 when he exited using the Highway 395 off-ramp for unknown reasons, according to the San Diego County Medical Examiner's office.
The compact he was driving collided with a stationary construction vehicle, erupting into flames.

When emergency personnel arrived, Smith was found dead in the vehicle.
The accident was being investigated by the California Highway Patrol out of Oceanside.
