Murrieta Man Arrested For Allegedly Shooting Roommate

Norman Lee, 46, is being held in lieu of $1 million bail.

A Murrieta man was behind bars on $1 million bail today for allegedly shooting his roommate.

Norman Lee, 46, was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder for the accused shooting of Robin Bomar, 25, of Murrieta. Bomar had been renting a room from Lee for the past several months, said Murrieta police Sgt. Phil Gomez.

Police were called to the residence at 35256 McElwain Road at about 5:19 p.m. Thursday after Bomar reported the shooting.

Bomar told police Lee became angry and attempted to shoot her three times, Gomez said. After the shooting, Bomar fled the residence on foot as Lee chased her in his vehicle. Lee was seen driving into a large wooded area near the intersection of McElwain and Linnel Lane.

A Riverside County Sheriff's Department helicopter assisted in searching the area for Lee, who was located after about an hour hiding behind large rocks.

A search of the residence revealed evidence of the shooting described by Bomar, Gomez said. Bomar was not injured in the alleged shooting.

Lee was booked at the Southwest Detention Center in Murrieta on suspicion of attempted murder, criminal threats, shooting into an inhabited dwelling and felony probation violation. At the time of his arrest, he was on probation for narcotics violations.
