Murrieta Man Accused of Sending Inappropriate Messages to Minor

Jeffrey Rightmire, 41, of Murrieta, was arrested at about 3:12 p.m. Monday in Perris, where he works as a teacher at Lakeside Middle School in the Val Verde Unified School District.

A Murrieta man who teaches in a neighboring school district has been arrested on suspicion of sending inappropriate messages of a sexual nature to a minor.

Jeffrey Rightmire, 41, of Murrieta was arrested at about 3:12 p.m. Monday in Perris, where he works as a computer teacher at Lakeside Middle School in the Val Verde Unified School District, according to a statement released Tuesday by the Perris Police Department.

His arrest followed an investigation that began when the allegations were reported to authorities, stated Perris police Sgt. Ryan Hoxmeier.

Rightmire was booked into Robert Presley Detention Center on suspicion of sending harmful matter with the intent to seduce a minor. As of Tuesday, he remained jailed in lieu of $55,000 bail, according to sheriff's jail records.

Police do not believe there were additional victims in the case, based on their investigation.
