Murrieta police were at the scene Wednesday afternoon of the second bank robbery to have occurred in the city this week.

At 3:04 p.m., Murrieta police were contacted by JP Morgan Chase Bank, 40655 California Oaks Road, regarding a robbery that had just occurred, police Sgt. Spencer Parker stated in a news release.

"Employees reported an adult male entered the bank, walked up to a teller station, and presented one of the tellers with a note demanding money," Parker stated. "The male suspect fled from the location with an undisclosed amount of cash."

No bank employees were injured during the incident.

Officers arrived promptly and searched the area for the suspect, but he was not located and remains outstanding, Parker said.

At about 3:30 p.m., a Riverside County Sheriff's Department helicopter was seen scouring the area from above.

The suspect was described as a white male between 30 and 40 years old with a medium height and build, wearing sunglasses, a multi-colored beanie, a gray sweatshirt and blue jeans.

The suspect description, time of day and the way the robbery was reportedly carried out are very similar to one reported Monday at Pacific Western Bank, 41381 Kalmia Street. Click here to read that report.

Both cases have been forwarded to the Murrieta Police Department's detective bureau.

"We are following all investigative leads and will publicize any pertinent information as soon as possible," Parker said.
