Murrieta Firefighters Assist on Temecula Hotel Fire

The Murrieta Fire Department was called to respond to a three-alarm fire that was reported at 12:35 a.m. at the Rancho California Inn in Old Town Temecula.

Murrieta firefighters were called early Saturday to assist on a three-alarm hotel fire in Temecula.

The fire was reported at 12:35 a.m. on the second story of Rancho California Inn, 41837 Moreno Road in Old Town Temecula, according to a report from Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department. 

Fifty-eight firefighters were on scene as of a 1:05 a.m. update. Southern California Gas Company and Southern California Edison were also on scene.

Smoke from the fire was drifting northwest toward Murrieta, Patch learned at the scene.

As of 1:45 a.m., the fire was contained. No injuries were reported, but six adults were displaced and would be assisted by the American Red Cross, according to the Cal Fire report.

The cause was still under investigation, according to Cal Fire.

In an update given Saturday morning, Cal Fire estimated damages to be a $2 million loss, with $1 million in property saved.
