Murrieta Fire Dept. Brings Christmas to Area Youth

The Murrieta firefighters decided to help Santa Claus this year, said Matt Corelli, fire department spokesperson.

"Fifteen children from the were selected based on their families need for assistance during Christmas," Corelli said, in a news release.

"Murrieta firefighters purchased gifts to be presented to the parents of the children who (...) put the presents under their tree for Christmas morning," Corelli said.

On Friday before Christmas, several firefighters met these parents at the Boys & Girls Club to present them the gifts.

"The Murrieta Fire Department is committed to helping those in need year round, but during the holidays we make a concerted effort to make this time of year more about giving than receiving," Corelli said.
