A motorcyclist who died in a Murrieta crash Tuesday on southbound Interstate 215, prompting a freeway shutdown has been indentified.
Manuel Isidoro Alves, Jr., 27, of Murrieta, was pronounced dead at the scene at 7:45 a.m. Tuesday, according to the Riverside County Coroner's office.
Alves was the helmeted rider of a motorcyle that was traveling at a high rate of speed when it spun out of control and hit a big rig, the coroner's office confirmed Thursday morning.
