MMHS Student Found with Taser

The student was taken into custody by the school resource officer, according to MMHS administration.

A Murrieta Mesa High School student was taken into custody Thursday after the student was found with a Taser, according to officials.

In an email to parents, Principal Mary Walters said a teacher "became aware of the Taser" during the first class of the day. The teacher notified the school resource officer, who then brought the student in for questionning.

"We take this incident very seriously and appropriate disciplinary action will be taken," Walters stated. "In order for our school to remain a safe haven for our students and staff, we must all work together to provide the safe environment that everyone deserves."
