Masked Gunmen Sought in Murrieta Gas Station Robbery

Murrieta police release surveillance photos of the suspects in hopes of locating them.

Murrieta police today released surveillance photos of two masked gunmen suspected of kidnapping and committing armed robbery at a Murrieta gas station.

At 5:07 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 8, after getting a report of a kidnapping and armed robbery that just took place.

The suspects entered the store with handguns and ordered all three clerks to the back office and one of the suspects demanded access to the safe, Murrieta police Sgt. Phil Gomez said via a wanted bulletin.

One of the suspects stood by with two of the clerks while the other suspect escorted the third clerk to the check‐out island where he had her empty money from two cash drawers into a bag, Gomez said.

The first supsect stole an undisclosed amount of cash and cigarettes from a display behind the counter. He was described as a dark-skinned, Black adult, 5 feet 7 inches tall, 180 pounds with a medium build. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, a white “ribbed” cloth mask with eyeholes cut out, black cotton gloves, dark pants and black tennis shoes, according to the bulletin.

The second suspect was described as light-skinned, Black or Hispanic, 5 five 7 inches tall, 160 pounds, with a medium build. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, a white “ribbed” cloth mask with eyeholes cut out, white cotton gloves, dark pants and white tennis shoes.

Both suspects took off out the front doors of the gas station and were last seen running behind the business, the sergeant said.
