Man and Woman Arrested for Using Stolen Credit Card

Suspects are nabbed trying to flee in a car after Target Loss Prevention officers alerted police.

A man and a woman were arrested Friday night after attempting to purchase a laptop computer with a stolen credit card, Murrieta police report.

Loss Prevention Officers at the Target on California Oaks Road contacted the Murrieta Police Department shortly before 7:30 p.m. regarding the male and female suspects, identified as Jeffrey Cole, 29, and Jinny Angels, 20. Cole was identified by Loss Prevention as a subject responsible for previous forgeries by his very distinct “brass knuckles” facial tattoos.

Officers arrived at the Target just as Cole and Angels began to drive away through the parking lot. When officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop, the vehicle failed to yield and Cole began driving through the parking lot at a high rate of speed. Angels began throwing items out of the vehicle's window.

Cole subsequently stopped the vehicle near the Chipotle and both he and Angels fled on foot. Cole was quickly apprehended in the middle of Monroe Avenue. Angels was located minutes later hiding in the Wings and Things.

The investigation revealed the credit card used in the attempt to buy the laptop had just been stolen from a vehicle at LA Fitness. In addition, items in Cole's vehicle and the items thrown out the window by Angels were determined to have been stolen during prior vehicle burglaries.

Cole was also found to be in possession of brass knuckles and Angels had an outstanding felony warrant. Both were both booked into the Southwest Detention facility on multiple charges.
