A man and a boy were arrested in connection with a shooting in Homeland that left one person with a gunshot wound, a sheriff's deputy said Sunday.

Dispatchers received a 911 call at 10 p.m. Friday and sent deputies to the 26000 block of Ritter Avenue, near Highway 74. The victim was sent to a hospital but his medical condition was not immediately known, Riverside County sheriff's Deputy Albert Martinez said.

The suspects were arrested in relation to the shooting, but Martinez said he was uncertain about the charges for which they were taken into custody.
