A kitten will get a new home after it was rescued by Murrieta firefighters Thursday.

The kitten was stuck in a vehicle's engine compartment in the parking lot of the restaurant, according to Murrieta Fire Chief Matt Shobert.

Capt. Dave Perez, Shad Chanley, an engineer, and Travis Anderson, a firefighter, teamed up to bring the kitten to safety with the help of some compassionate citizens.
