Kaiser Building in Wildomar Evacuated When AC Unit Overheats

Patients and employees at the three-story office building were evacuated Thursday morning when smoke started coming out of an overheated air conditioning unit.

Heavy smoke from an overheated air conditioning unit at a Wildomar medical office forced a precautionary evacuation of occupants today, but no fire was discovered.

An undetermined number of people were evacuated around 10:30 a.m. from the three-story Kaiser Permanente office building at 36450 Inland Valley Drive, said Jody Hagemann of Cal Fire.

By 11 a.m., officials determined that there was no fire coming from the smoking air conditioning unit and occupants were let back into the building, she said.
