Intoxicated Pedestrian Hit While Jaywalking

The accident occurred at about 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Murrieta Hot Springs Road and Via Princesa, according to police.

A pedestrian suspected of being intoxicated suffered moderate injuries when he was hit by a car Wednesday evening in Murrieta.

The accident occurred at about 7:30 p.m. near the intersection of Via Princesa and Murrieta Hot Springs Road, Murrieta police confirmed today.

"The pedestrian was under the influence at the time of the collision and was determined to be jaywalking," said Murrieta police Lt. Tony Conrad.

"He was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries," the lieutenant said.

The driver was not intoxicated, and stopped to help the still-conscious pedestrian until emergency crews arrived.

Neither the driver nor the pedestrian were cited, according to Conrad.
