Three hundred Riverside County firefighters are helping battle the raging wildfires that have blackened parts of San Diego County, a spokeswoman said Thursday.

Two dozen other firefighters from local fire protection agencies also have joined the effort. The help San Diego County firefighters have received would not affect fire protection in Riverside County, Cal Fire spokeswoman Jody Hagemann said.

While the fire fight is focused on containing the blazes, Hagemann assured that Riverside County residents have nothing to worry about.

"We're covered, always," Hagemann said. "At this time, there is no threat of those fires entering Riverside County."

In Carlsbad, three Riverside County fire engines were a part of a strike team that helped save a three-story condominium during the Poinsettia wildfire, Riverside County Board Chairman Jeff Stone said.

Those engines and firefighters remained in San Diego County, along with five strike teams that were deployed by the Riverside County Fire Department, Stone said.

"I am so proud of our firefighters, and constantly amazed by their dedication and tireless effort," Stone said.

Hagemann urged anyone wanting to know what to do in case of a fire emergency to go online to ReadyForWildfire.org.
