Helicopter Hoists Cyclist from Stevenson Canyon Bike Trail

The male bicyclist was lifted from Santa Rosa Plateau around 11 a.m. Sunday morning.

A bicyclist suffered moderate injuries and was lifted from the Stevenson Canyon bike trail area by helicopter late Sunday morning and taken to a hospital, according to a Cal Fire spokeswoman.

Few details were released about the incident, which was reported at 9:22 a.m. Firefighters responded to a report of a male cyclist down one mile off the trail on Santa Rosa Plateau in unincorporated Murrieta. 

The helicopter hoisted the man from the area just after 11:00 a.m. and an ambulance took him to a hospital. The cyclist’s condition was not released.
