Firefighters' Barbecue Continues Tradition

The event will host a beer garden for the first time, as well as a reunion for those who ever attended Murrieta Elementary School.

The Murrieta Fire Department invites the community to its 64th Annual Firefighters Barbecue this Sunday.

The event will take place at Murrieta Fire Department Station No. 1 at 41825 Juniper Street in Historic Downtown Murrieta. Much of Juniper Street will be shut down to accommodate the crowds.

The Firefighters Barbecue is one of the longest occurring events in city history, said Murrieta Fire Department Spokesperson Matt Corelli in a news release. The first one took place in 1948 to celebate the first anniversary of the Murrieta Fire District.
