The garage of a Murrieta home was damaged by fire Thursday night.

Firefighters responded at about 8:15 p.m. to reports of a structure fire in the 39000 block of Pearl Drive off Alta Murrieta Drive, according to Matt Corelli, spokesperson for the Murrieta Fire Department.

"Residents had used a garden hose in an attempt to fight the fire prior to the arrival of crews," Corelli said.
