A Perris man suspected of sexually abusing several children and distributing child pornography was being held Friday in lieu of $1 million bail.

Mark David Wade, 36, was arrested on suspicion of lewd and lascivious acts on a child under 14 and sodomy of a child under 10.

According to Riverside County sheriff's Sgt. Glenn Williams, a joint local and federal investigation culminated in a search warrant being served at Wade's Ironwood Lane residence around 10 a.m. Thursday.

Williams said the warrant was based on allegations that "sexual assaults had occurred" on the premises.

The alleged victims were not identified because of their ages. Their relationship to the suspect, if any, was also not disclosed.

Wade was taken into custody without incident after evidence was seized at the house, according to Williams.

"Wade is also facing federal charges for the distribution of child pornography," he said.

Wade was booked into the Southwest Detention Center in Murrieta.

So much for the American concept of justice among you all. Make no mistake, if he is guilty, then let justice be done, but innocent until proven guilty is still the law of the land.

Once he has a fair trail, if convicted, put him in with the general population and let survival of the fittest take over.
