Fatal Car Crash Reported Near Lake Skinner

The crash was reported at about 9 p.m. Friday, according to the California Highway Patrol.

UPDATE 12:15 p.m. March 17: Authorities have ID'd Veronica Boen, 36, of Bonsall as the victim of the fatal crash. Read more here.

 

 

A traffic crash tonight near Lake Skinner resulted in a fatality, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The crash was reported at about 9 p.m. Friday on Borel Road just east of Buck Road, between the Skinner Water Treatment Plant and the entrance to Lake Skinner, according to the CHP website.

No information was immediately available on the cause of the crash or whether there was more than one car or person involved.

A red sedan was described as the vehicle that crashed.

The car was found off the roadway on the right shoulder on the north side, CHP reported.

A witness described seeing smoke coming from the engine, CHP reported.

CHP was still on scene as of 11:24 p.m.

I was Veronica's friend at OLS and Cathedral! We just found out today! We are all greatly saddened to find out about this tragedy!!! :(

Carla, I doubt you still read these posts but in case you do, i myself only found out about her passing recently. I live in NYC and knew Vee a short while before she moved out West. She was an extraordinary woman that touched a lot of people's lives including mine. She will be missed. If you do read this, reach out if you would like to help setting up a memorial scholarship of some sort at Cathedral.
