Lanes moved at a crawl Tuesday morning following a 6:40 a.m. incident in which a car reportedly crashed on the northbound side of Interstate 15 at Winchester Road and landed in the southbound center divider.
The accident occurred as a 19-year-old San Diego woman was driving a 2006 gray Chrysler 300 at about 70 mph on the northbound side of the freeway, just north of Winchester Road, according to CHP Spokesperson Nathan Baer.
Due to her alleged level of intoxication she allowed her car to drift into the center median, Baer said.
Her car continued across the center median, crashed into wall, and overturned onto the southbound center divider, Baer said.
The roof of the vehicle was torn off, he said.
The woman, identified as Stephanie Daniels, was placed under arrest for alleged driving under the influence of marijuana, Baer said.
Daniels refused medical treatment but was taken to Inland Valley Medical Center for precautionary measures, he said.
