Community Rallies for Murrieta Valley Senior Hit by Car

A senior at Murrieta Valley High School remains in critical condition after she was hit by a car Tuesday on Prielipp Road in Wildomar.

A student at Murrieta Valley High School is in a medically-induced coma to stabilize brain injuries suffered in a pedestrian accident, and the community is rallying around her.

Kaitlyn Parra, a 16-year-old senior at Murrieta Valley, suffered the critical injuries when she was as she walking at Prielipp Road and Elizabeth Lane in Wildomar, just outside Murrieta city limits.

The driver of the car that hit Kaitlyn was not injured, according to sheriff's deputies. The circumstances of the crash were under investigation.

Kaitlyn, who went to and before entering high school at , remains in intensive care due to swelling in her brain.

A prayer vigil for Kaitlyn will take place at 7 p.m. Sunday at Catholic Church in Murrieta, according to the Facebook page, "Support Kaitlyn Parra."
