The California Highway Patrol is reporting that a motorcyclist has died following a crash in Winchester Tuesday.

The crash was reported around 11:30 a.m., in the intersection of Domenigoni Parkway and State Route 79, according to CHP incident logs.

Involved in the incident were the unidentified motorcyclist and a woman driving a sedan.  The person on the motorcycle died at the scene, according to witnesses and CHP reports.

"Something told me to get over... I was braking hard enough, but it was too late," Shalandra Broadnax, who was driving the sedan, told Lane Media following the crash. "My car just skidded, and it slid right into him."

"I was coming down that hill right there," she said.  "And that hill right there says 60 mph, but I slowed down when I saw him at the stop [light].  And I tried to slow down as much as I could... "

Emergency crews were still on scene as of 12:45 p.m., and traffic was backed up in the area while they worked to clear the wreckage.

Lane Media is at the location and will be providing additional details and images here.

Patch will update this breaking news story as more information becomes available.

To anonymous: good point but rest assure that not only do they operate computers BUT they drive cars too!! NO ONE should ever be judged because of what they drive/ride. This man sounds like he was a good hardworking man who was supporting his family, being a good husband and father. That is something (sadly) we don't see a lot of these days. I hope to see something in the paper to "help" this family.

To all that want to criticize the Motorcycle driver because he exists, according to the CHP.....Broadnax “was inattentive to her driving and failed to observe the red light and stopped traffic in front of her,” the release said. She made what the CHP called a “hard brake application” and skidded into the back of the Harley Davidson. That quote by the CHP is on another news site for the inland empire and is a quote from the CHP. That, says all that needs to be said. Dont blame the rider!
