Child Porn Suspect Arrested, Authorities Seek Possible Victims

The Riverside County SAFE Task Force is seeking underage victims of Hector Jesus Zamora, 42, of Temecula, after an investigation revealed alleged child pornography images on his computer.

A Temecula man has been arrested after authorities allegedly found about two dozen images believed to be child pornography on his computer.

Hector Jesus Zamora, 42, was arrested Tuesday near his home by members of the SAFE Task Force, said John Hall, spokesperson for the Riverside County District Attorney's Office, in a news release.

"Among images found on his computer are some in which Zamora is seen with possibly underage girls," Hall said. "It is believed these specific photos may have been taken about 10 years ago while Zamora was a living in Holtville, Calif. where he worked as a police officer."

Authorities are requesting the public’s help in determining whether Zamora has had illegal contact with any underage victims. He has lived in the Temecula area since about 2005, moving there from San Diego County, according to the news release.

According to Hall, in January 2010, the FBI served a search warrant at Zamora’s Temecula home and seized computers. A forensic investigation was done and child porn images were allegedly found.

The FBI referred the case to the Riverside County SAFE Task Force, which has been conducting and continues to conduct further investigation.

Zamora posted bail after his arrest so no arraignment date on criminal case is currently scheduled, according to Hall. He has been charged with one count of possessing child sexual exploitation images.

The SAFE Task Force is a collaboration of multi-disciplined law enforcement agencies including the Riverside County District Attorney’s Office, Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, Riverside County Probation Department, California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, California Department of Justice, Corona Police Department, Murrieta Police Department and others.

"Working together in seamless cooperation, SAFE Task Force personnel are focused on reducing incidents of sexual assault countywide by means of comprehensive registered sex offender monitoring and enforcement," Hall said.
