Traffic was snarled Monday evening on northbound Interstate 15 when a car rolled and landed on the center divider.

The driver of a car that rolled and ended up on the center divider Monday evening on northbound Interstate 15 in Murrieta escaped injury.

The crash was reported at about 5:21 p.m. just south of the Clinton Keith Road exit, according to the California Highway Patrol website. As a result, traffic was backed up to at least California Oaks Road.

The car, a gray Honda, was being driven by a lone male from Huntington Beach who was coming from a job interview in the area, according to CHP Officer Randy Cooper.

CHP was still investigating the crash, but said according to a witness, the man may have been traveling 70 to 75 mph when he drifted into the center divider and over-corrected the steering wheel. The car then fishtailed, according to the witness, and rolled over at least one time coming to rest on top of the guard rail, Cooper said.
