Caltrans To Share Details Of $86M Ortega Highway Project During Feb. 11 Meeting In Wildomar

Caltrans representatives are scheduled to share information about major closures and detours necessitated by the $86 million I-5/Ortega Highway interchange project.

Find out what’s going on with the $86 million Ortega Highway construction project during a Feb. 11 meeting scheduled in Wildomar.

The 6 p.m. public meeting will take place at Animal Friends of The Valleys/Southwest Communities Animal Shelter located at 33751 Mission Trail.

The meeting is expected to last until 7:30 p.m. and will address construction of the I-5/Ortega Highway interchange project that begins this month. The project is designed to ease congestion at the busy interchange that’s most utilized by residents of Orange and Riverside counties.

Caltrans representatives are scheduled to share project information, including major closures and detours.

The meeting is a joint effort between Caltrans District 12, and the cities of Lake Elsinore and Wildomar. The meeting was prompted by angry city officials; click here to read more about that story.

The I-5/Ortega Highway construction is separate from a proposed project further east on the Ortega Highway that is designed to ease bottlenecks at the eastern edge of the San Juan Capistrano city limits. Click here to read more about that.

@justme, Leave it to you to make a meaningless rebuttal to an otherwise positive comment. We could certainly do with less of your inane and presumptuous comments. You and your cohorts may 'know it all' but others may welcome additional information. And, the "if funded" comment is quite valid. Many supposedly approved projects are postponed even if the funding has been identified/approved/scheduled...or haven't you noticed this economy has slowed down the progress of funding approved projects? And, yes, I frequently travel the Ortega.

There was an idea put out a while ago to tunnel under the mountains and put in a 4 lane highway from the 15 to the 5. That would be cool.
