Burglars Hit Murrieta Home, Police Say

A search was on for burglary suspects after residents on Carly Court came home to find their house had been broken into, a Murrieta police sergeant said.

Murrieta residents came home to find their house broken into Thursday evening, prompting a manhunt for the suspects.

The residents arrived at 9:10 p.m. Thursday at their home on Carly Court near Nutmeg Street and Jackson Avenue to find they had been the victims of a break-in, according to Murrieta police Sgt. Jay Froboese.

Upon entering the home, the sergeant said the victims saw two suspects running out.

The homeowners chased the suspects to but lost sight of them. That is when they called police, Froboese said.

"We set up a containment area to find them, and called in a sheriff's helicopter," Froboese said.

Two backpacks and a cellphone were found in the park, and Froboese said police were using the evidence to try and track down the suspects.
