UPDATE: Buck Fire 100 Percent Contained; Another Firefighter Injured

The Buck Fire in Aguanga east of Murrieta was 100 percent contained as of Friday morning, authorities said, though on Thursday another firefighter suffered minor injuries.

UPDATED at 10:15 a.m. Aug. 17:

The Buck Fire was declared 100 perecent contained as of 6 a.m. Friday, authorities said.

Firefighters would remain at the scene patrolling and extinguishing hot spots and improving containment lines, according to Jody Hagemann, spokesperson for Cal Fire/Riverside County Department.

Another firefighter was injured Thursday while fighting the , authorities said.

The firefighter suffered minor injuries and was transported to a hospital, according to Jody Hagemann, spokesperson for Cal Fire/Riverside County.

Two firefighters previously suffered minor injuries in the blaze that broke out Tuesday, as did three civilians—one critically.

in Aguanga east of Murrieta, the Buck Fire was 90 percent contained as of Thursday evening, Hagemann reported, and was mapped at 2,681 acres.

"Interior smoldering continues throughout the burn area," Hagemann said.

Informational updates were not expected until Friday morning unless significant activity warrants otherwise, Hagemann said.

The resulted in the loss of four structures.

There were 1,057 firefighters assigned to the blaze, including some from the Murrieta Fire Department.
